Perfect for themed parties or a quick, eerie weeknight snack, this dish is easy to assemble and guaranteed to be the highlight of your holiday spread.
Ingredients
1 loaf French baguette, sliced lengthwise
1/2 cup salted butter, softened
4 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
8 ounces mozzarella cheese, sliced into thin strips
1/4 cup shredded chicken, cooked
2 large black olives, sliced
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a small bowl, mix softened butter, minced garlic, and fresh parsley until smooth.
Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly over the cut sides of the baguette.
Scatter a thin layer of cooked shredded chicken over the bread.
Place mozzarella strips across the bread at various angles to create a bandage look, leaving a small gap near the top for the eyes.
Bake for 10-12 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and slightly golden.
Add olive slices to the gap to create the eyes and serve immediately.
Notes
Use low-moisture mozzarella for best melting results. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days and should be reheated in the oven to maintain crispiness. You can omit the chicken for a vegetarian version.
