Description

Indulge in the ultimate fusion of classic red velvet cake and chewy brownies. These decadent treats feature a rich, cocoa-infused batter with a vibrant crimson hue and a signature tangy cream cheese swirl. Perfect for Valentine’s Day or any special occasion, these bars are incredibly moist, satisfying, and simple to whip up. Impress your friends and family with this show-stopping, crowd-pleasing dessert that offers homemade quality without spending hours in the kitchen.

Ingredients

Scale

1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 cup granulated sugar
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon red food coloring
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
4 ounces cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup powdered sugar

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line your 8×8 inch baking dish with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter and granulated sugar until well combined.
Stir in the egg, vanilla extract, and red food coloring until the mixture is smooth and vibrantly red.
Gently fold in the cocoa powder, flour, and salt until just combined; do not overmix.
Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish.
In a separate small bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with the powdered sugar until smooth.
Drop spoonfuls of the cream cheese mixture onto the brownie batter and use a knife to swirl it through for a marbled effect.
Bake for 25 minutes, or until the edges are set and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan before slicing into 16 squares.

Notes

Store these brownies in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. The cool temperature keeps the cream cheese swirl fresh and delicious. For perfect swirls, use a skewer or a butter knife to create figure-eight motions through the batter.
