Description

Celebrate the autumn season with this fun and festive pumpkin-shaped pizza! This kid-friendly recipe uses pre-made dough and savory chicken strips to create a delicious, protein-packed dinner that looks like a harvest masterpiece. It is simple to prepare, visually impressive, and perfect for a cozy family night in during the fall months.

Ingredients

Scale

1 lb store-bought pizza dough
1 cup marinara sauce
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1 cup cooked chicken strips, finely chopped
1 green bell pepper, sliced into strips
1 teaspoon olive oil
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon dried oregano

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
On a lightly floured surface, roll the dough into a large circle.
Gently pinch the edges to shape the dough into a pumpkin silhouette, creating indentations on the sides to form the curves.
Transfer the shaped dough to your prepared baking sheet.
Spread the marinara sauce evenly across the dough, leaving a small border for the crust.
Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce, followed by the chopped chicken strips.
Place a slice of green bell pepper at the top of the pumpkin shape to serve as the stem.
Brush the exposed edges of the dough with olive oil and sprinkle with garlic powder and oregano.
Bake for 10–12 minutes until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
Let the pizza rest for 2 minutes before slicing into wedges to serve.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in an oven or air fryer for the crispiest results. You can substitute chicken with seasoned ground beef or venison strips for a heartier variation.
