Description
A vibrant, homemade iced tea blending fragrant black tea with juicy peaches, lemon juice, and a touch of sugar. Perfect for summer gatherings, this refreshing drink is easy to make and keeps chilled in the fridge.
Ingredients
6 black tea bags (or loose-leaf equivalent in an infuser)
1 cup filtered water
3 large ripe peaches, peeled and diced into 1-inch cubes
½ cup granulated sugar
½ cup fresh squeezed lemon juice
1 quart (4 cups) cold filtered water
Fresh mint sprigs and thin lemon slices, for garnish
Ice cubes, as needed
Instructions
Bring 1 cup filtered water to a boil in a medium saucepan, then remove from heat. Submerge 6 tea bags and steep for 5 minutes.
Peaches: While steeping, peel and dice 3 large peaches into 1-inch cubes and mash with ½ cup sugar until chunky pulp forms.
Combine: Pour mashed peaches into the hot tea, stir continuously for 2 minutes until sugar dissolves.
Strain: Pour the warm mixture into a large pitcher through a fine-mesh strainer, pressing solids to extract flavor.
Dilute and Chill: Add 4 cups cold water and ice cubes to the pitcher. Let cool in the fridge for at least 2 hours before serving.
Notes
Adjust sugar to taste; reduce to ¼ cup for a less sweet version.
Freshly squeezed lemon juice enhances bright flavor. Avoid supermarket pasteurized juice.
Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
For a non-dairy option, serve as is—no cream included in this recipe.
