Ingredients
2 cups water
2 black tea bags or 2 tsp loose leaf tea
1 cinnamon stick
2 strips of fresh orange peel (pith removed)
1 cup milk (dairy, oat, or almond)
2 tbsp honey or maple syrup
Instructions
Pour 2 cups of water into your saucepan, add the cinnamon stick and orange peel, and bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
Turn off the heat and add your tea bags, steeping for 4 to 5 minutes until deep and dark.
While the tea steeps, gently warm your milk in a separate small pan or the microwave until steaming.
Remove the tea bags, orange peel, and cinnamon stick from the water and pour the hot tea into two mugs.
Stir in your sweetener, then pour the warm milk over the tea, frothing the milk first for a cafe-style finish if desired.
Notes
Store leftover tea concentrate in the fridge for up to 24 hours, reheating before adding fresh warm milk.
Use oat or almond milk for a dairy-free variation.
Adjust the amount of honey or maple syrup to suit your sweetness preference.
For an iced version, let the concentrate cool, pour over ice, and add cold milk.
