Ingredients
Matcha Powder (ceremonial grade): 1 teaspoon
Hot Water (175°F / 80°C): 2 tablespoons
Milk (oat, almond, soy, or whole dairy): 1 cup
Natural Sweetener (honey, maple syrup, or agave): 1 teaspoon, adjust to taste
Ice Cubes (optional): ½ cup
Instructions
Sift 1 teaspoon of matcha powder into a small bowl
Pour 2 tablespoons of hot water over the sifted matcha and whisk briskly in a ‘W’ or zigzag motion until glossy and foamy
Heat 1 cup of milk over medium for 45 to 60 seconds until warm
Add sweetener to warm milk and stir until dissolved
Slowly pour sweetened milk into the matcha mixture, tilting the mug for a marbled effect
Stir gently for 3–4 rotations to blend evenly
Notes
Use a bamboo or fine-wire whisk for optimal foam. Substitute dairy milk with plant-based alternatives for a vegan option. Adjust sweetener to preference. Add ice cubes for a chilled latte after blending.
