Description
A bright, citrussy iced tea with a perfect balance of tart and sweet, ideal for refreshing summer days. Brewed tea, lemon juice, and sweetener create a crisp, hydrating drink with no artificial additives.
Ingredients
6 cups filtered water, divided
4 large black tea bags
1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 4–5 lemons)
½ cup granulated sugar or pure agave nectar
4 cups ice cubes
Fresh lemon slices and mint sprigs for garnish
Instructions
Place tea bags in a saucepan with 2 cups water. Remove from heat, cover, and steep for 5 minutes. Discard tea bags.
In a separate pot, warm 4 cups water until warm. Stir in sugar or agave until dissolved. Let cool slightly.
Pour brewed tea into a pitcher, add warm sweetener, then stir in lemon juice. Mix for 30 seconds until glossy.
Add ice to the pitcher, stir gently, then pour into glasses and garnish with lemon slices and mint.
Notes
Substitute green tea for a lighter flavor
Sweetener can be adjusted to taste
Store in a sealed pitcher in the fridge for up to 2 days
