Description

A vibrant, sun-drenched summer drink combining fresh strawberries and zesty lemons. Perfect for picnics, parties, or cooling off on hot days with its balance of sweet, tart, and refreshing flavors.

Ingredients

Scale

1 pound fresh strawberries, hulled and halved
1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice, from 5 to 6 large lemons
3/4 cup granulated sugar, plus more to taste
5 cups cold water, divided
1 cup ice cubes, plus more for serving
1 lemon, thinly sliced for garnish
1/2 cup fresh strawberry slices for garnish
Fresh mint leaves, optional for serving

Instructions

Rinse strawberries, hull and halve them
Roll lemons on the counter, juice until 1 cup is obtained
Blend strawberries, sugar, and 1 cup cold water until smooth
Strain mixture through a fine mesh strainer into a pitcher
Mix in fresh lemon juice and remaining 4 cups cold water until sugar dissolves
Taste and adjust sweetness by adding sugar or diluting with water as needed
Chill in refrigerator for 30 minutes to let flavors meld

Notes

For a stronger strawberry flavor, let the lemonade sit for 1 hour before serving
Use frozen strawberries in summer for chilled lemonade
Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 48 hours
