Ingredients
1 large French or Italian bread loaf (16 oz)
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
2 tablespoons olive oil
4 garlic cloves, minced
1 teaspoon dried parsley
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1/4 teaspoon fine sea salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 cup pizza sauce
1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 cup diced bell peppers
1/4 cup thinly sliced red onion
2 tablespoons sliced black olives (optional)
2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil (for garnish)
Instructions
Preheat oven to 425°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper
Slice the bread in half lengthwise; cut diagonally into six 1-inch-thick slices
Create garlic butter by mixing softened butter, olive oil, garlic, parsley, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper
Spread garlic butter on each bread slice and bake for 5 minutes
Remove from oven and spread pizza sauce over each piece
Sprinkle mozzarella, Parmesan, bell peppers, red onion, and olives evenly
Return to oven for 7 minutes until cheese is melted and golden
Garnish with fresh basil before serving
