Ingredients
6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
1 package (10 oz) mini marshmallows
3 tablespoons unsalted butter
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
Optional: Orange food coloring
Optional: Candy eyeballs or chocolate drizzle for decoration
Instructions
Line a 9×9 inch baking dish with parchment paper.
In a large saucepan, melt the butter over low heat.
Add the marshmallows to the melted butter and stir continuously until smooth and creamy.
If using, stir in a few drops of orange food coloring until the desired shade is reached.
Remove from heat and gently fold in the Rice Krispies until thoroughly coated.
Press the mixture into the prepared baking dish using a greased spatula.
Allow the treats to cool completely for 30 minutes before cutting into shapes.
Notes
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days to maintain chewiness. Swap half the cereal with crushed pretzels for a salty crunch. Grease your spatula with butter or non-stick spray to prevent sticking.
