Ingredients
1 lb fresh green beans, trimmed
3 tbsp unsalted butter
4 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 tsp sea salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
2 strips crispy turkey bacon, crumbled (optional)
Instructions
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil, add green beans, and cook for 3-4 minutes until bright green and crisp-tender.
Drain the beans and immediately rinse with cold water to stop the cooking process.
In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant and lightly golden.
Add the green beans to the skillet and toss thoroughly to coat in the garlic butter.
Fold in the crumbled turkey bacon, if using, and cook for 2 more minutes.
Remove from heat, drizzle with fresh lemon juice, season with salt and pepper, and serve warm.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheat gently in a pan.
If using frozen whole green beans, simply skip the blanching step.
For extra heat, add a pinch of red pepper flakes.
Top with toasted almonds or grated Parmesan cheese for added texture and flavor.
