Ingredients
2 large chicken breasts, sliced into strips
1 head of Romaine lettuce, chopped
1 loaf of crusty French bread
4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
3 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, freshly grated
1/2 cup creamy Caesar dressing (egg-based, no anchovy/wine)
1 teaspoon dried parsley
Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
Slice the French bread into 1-inch cubes.
In a small bowl, mix softened butter, minced garlic, and parsley.
Toss the bread cubes with the garlic butter and spread them on a baking sheet.
Bake for 8-10 minutes until golden and crispy.
Season chicken strips with salt and pepper.
Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat with a drizzle of oil and cook chicken for 5-6 minutes until golden and cooked through.
In a large mixing bowl, toss the chopped Romaine lettuce with the Caesar dressing.
Top the dressed lettuce with the warm chicken strips and homemade garlic bread croutons.
Sprinkle with fresh Parmesan cheese and serve immediately.
Notes
Keep the components separate if you plan to store leftovers so the lettuce stays crisp. You can substitute chicken with seasoned strips of beef for a hearty twist.
