Ingredients
12 ounces fresh cranberries
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
1 tablespoon orange zest
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
A pinch of sea salt
Instructions
In a medium saucepan, combine the sugar and fresh orange juice over medium heat and stir until the sugar has dissolved.
Add the fresh cranberries, orange zest, cinnamon, and salt to the pan and stir to coat.
Bring the mixture to a gentle boil, then reduce heat to low.
Simmer for 10-12 minutes, allowing the cranberries to pop and the mixture to thicken.
Remove from heat and let it cool completely as it will thicken further while sitting.
Notes
Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 10 days or freeze for up to 3 months. Add vanilla or ginger for depth. Use an immersion blender for a smoother texture. Can be spiced with star anise or cinnamon sticks.
