Cheesy, saucy bite-sized sandwiches featuring crispy breaded chicken, rich marinara, melty mozzarella, and savory Parmesan. Perfect for parties or weeknight dinners with gooey cheese pulls and golden, butter-brushed rolls.
Ingredients
12 slider rolls, kept connected if possible
2 cups cooked breaded chicken tenders, chopped into bite-size pieces
1 cup marinara sauce
1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley, plus more for garnish
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes, optional
Cooking spray or a small amount of neutral oil for greasing the baking dish
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F. Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish
Use a serrated knife to cut slider rolls in half horizontally, keeping the tops and bottoms connected. Place the bottom halves in the dish
If your cooked breaded chicken is cold, warm it for 3-4 minutes in the oven or microwave
Spoon 1/2 cup marinara sauce over the bottom rolls and spread it evenly
Chop chicken into bite-size pieces and scatter them over the sauce
In a small bowl, mix 1/3 cup Parmesan, 3 tbsp melted butter, 1 tsp garlic powder, 1 tsp Italian seasoning, and 1 tbsp parsley. Spread this mixture over the chicken
Sprinkle half the mozzarella cheese on top
Arrange the top halves of the rolls over the layers, pressing them down gently
Spread the remaining 1/2 cup marinara sauce over the top rolls
Sprinkle the rest of the mozzarella, red pepper flakes (optional), and reserved parsley
With a pastry brush or spoon, brush melted butter under the tops of the rolls. Sprinkle additional Parmesan if desired
Bake for 18 minutes until golden and bubbly
Notes
Use store-bought or pre-cooked breaded chicken tenders to save time
Substitute 1/4 cup Parmesan with Pecorino Romano if available
For extra cheese, melt a few slices before assembling
Serve warm. Leftovers can be refrigerated for 3 days and reheated in a 350°F oven for 10 minutes
