Description
Juicy chicken thighs or breasts glazed with a sweet, smoky homemade BBQ sauce. Baked to perfection for a tender, flavorful weeknight meal. Served with optional sides like corn, salad, or roasted potatoes.
Ingredients
2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken thighs or breasts
1 cup BBQ sauce
2 tablespoons honey
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
2 tablespoons water (optional for sauce consistency)
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 425°F. Line a rimmed baking sheet or baking dish with parchment paper or foil.
Pat chicken dry with paper towels. Slice thick chicken breasts in half horizontally if needed. Place chicken on the prepared pan.
In a small bowl, mix BBQ sauce, honey, lemon juice, olive oil, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Add 1–2 tablespoons water if sauce is too thick.
Spoon 1/4 cup of the glaze into a separate bowl to reserve as finishing sauce. Brush the remaining glaze over both sides of the chicken.
Bake for 25 minutes, or until chicken reaches 165°F. Brush reserved glaze over chicken during the last 5 minutes of baking.
Let rest 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with parsley if desired.
Notes
Use a halal-certified BBQ sauce if needed. For extra caramelization, increase oven to 450°F for the last 5 minutes. Substitute chicken thighs with halal lamb or beef if desired.
