Description

Elevate your morning with this refined sugar-free Date Latte, a creamy and naturally sweetened coffee house experience you can easily craft at home. By blending fiber-rich Medjool dates into a silky smooth syrup, you achieve a sophisticated caramel flavor profile that perfectly complements the bold notes of espresso. This wholesome, dairy-friendly beverage is simple to make and provides a natural, energizing pick-me-up to fuel your busiest days, all without the need for processed additives or artificial syrups.

Ingredients

Scale

2 soft Medjool dates, pitted
1/2 cup boiling water
2 shots of fresh espresso or 1/2 cup strong brewed coffee
1 cup milk of your choice (oat or almond work beautifully)
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
A pinch of sea salt

Instructions

Place the pitted dates in a small bowl with 1/2 cup of boiling water and soak for 5 minutes until soft.
Blend the dates and the soaking water in a blender until completely smooth to create a date caramel syrup.
Brew your espresso or strong coffee.
Warm your milk in a small saucepan over medium heat until it reaches a gentle simmer.
Add the date syrup, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt to your mug.
Pour the hot coffee into the mug and stir well to combine.
Froth the warm milk using a whisk or hand frother and pour over the coffee mixture to serve.

Notes

You can prepare a larger batch of the date syrup in advance and store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
If you notice small bits of date remaining after blending, use a fine-mesh strainer when pouring the syrup into your mug for a silky smooth texture.
