Description

This Cheesy Garlic Potato Bake is the ultimate cozy side dish, featuring layers of tender, thinly sliced Yukon Gold potatoes smothered in a rich, garlicky cream sauce. Topped with a blend of melted cheddar and parmesan cheese and crispy turkey bacon, it offers a perfect balance of savory and creamy flavors. It is an easy-to-assemble, crowd-pleasing comfort food that pairs beautifully with roasted chicken or beef for a stress-free weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Scale

2 lbs Yukon Gold potatoes, thinly sliced
1 tablespoon butter
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 cups heavy cream
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup shredded parmesan cheese
1/4 cup chopped turkey bacon, cooked until crispy
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease your 9×13 baking dish lightly with butter.
In a large bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, minced garlic, salt, and pepper until well combined.
Layer one-third of the potato slices in the bottom of your baking dish.
Pour a small amount of the cream mixture over the potatoes and sprinkle with a bit of cheese and turkey bacon.
Repeat the layering process until all ingredients are used, finishing with a generous layer of both cheeses on top.
Cover the dish with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
Remove the foil and bake for another 15 minutes until the potatoes are tender and the top is bubbly and golden brown.
Let the bake rest for 5 minutes before serving so the sauce can thicken slightly.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven to maintain texture. If you don’t have turkey bacon, smoked chicken strips work wonderfully to add that savory, smoky depth. For perfect, even cooking, use a mandoline slicer to ensure all potato slices are uniform in thickness.
