Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
1/4 teaspoon salt
16 oz cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 cups Granny Smith apples, peeled and thinly sliced
1 tablespoon granulated sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 cup caramel sauce
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9×9 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
In a medium bowl, combine flour, 1/2 cup sugar, and salt, then cut in the cold butter until the mixture forms coarse crumbs.
Press two-thirds of the dough into the bottom of the pan and bake for 15 minutes until lightly golden.
In a bowl, toss sliced apples with 1 tablespoon sugar and cinnamon.
In a separate bowl, beat cream cheese and 1/2 cup sugar until smooth, then mix in the egg and vanilla.
Spread the cream cheese mixture over the warm crust, then layer the spiced apples on top.
Sprinkle the remaining crumb mixture over the apples and drizzle with half of the caramel sauce.
Bake for 30 minutes, then let cool completely before drizzling with the remaining caramel and slicing.
