Ingredients
1 lb flank steak, sliced thin against the grain
4 cups fresh broccoli florets
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
1/2 cup low-sodium soy sauce
1/4 cup beef broth
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 tablespoon toasted sesame oil
Instructions
In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, beef broth, brown sugar, cornstarch, and sesame oil until smooth. Set aside.
Heat one tablespoon of oil in your skillet over high heat. Add the beef strips in a single layer and sear for 2-3 minutes until browned. Remove the beef from the pan and set aside.
Add the remaining tablespoon of oil to the same pan. Toss in the broccoli florets and add a splash of water, covering the pan for 2 minutes to steam until vibrant green and tender-crisp.
Return the beef to the pan and pour the sauce over the mixture.
Toss everything together for 1-2 minutes until the sauce is thick and glossy.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Use sirloin or chicken breast as alternatives. Always slice beef against the grain for tenderness. Sauce and broccoli can be prepped in advance.
