Ingredients

Scale

12 count package sweet Hawaiian rolls
2 cups cooked chicken breast, shredded
1 cup barbecue sauce (alcohol-free)
1 cup shredded mozzarella or cheddar cheese
2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon dried parsley
1/4 teaspoon onion powder

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Use a serrated knife to slice the entire slab of Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the shredded chicken with your barbecue sauce until thoroughly coated.
Place the bottom half of the rolls into a 9×13 inch baking dish.
Spread the barbecue chicken mixture evenly over the rolls.
Top with the shredded cheese, then place the top half of the rolls over the cheese.
In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, garlic powder, onion powder, and parsley.
Brush this mixture generously over the tops of the rolls.
Cover the dish with foil and bake for 15 minutes.
Remove the foil and bake for an additional 5 minutes until the tops are golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.

Notes

Keep leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven at 300°F until warmed through. For extra smoky flavor, add a dash of smoked paprika or a drop of liquid smoke to the sauce mixture.
