Welcome to Enjoyed Recipe, a culinary haven for food lovers around the globe. At the heart of this blog is Amira, a chef with a passion for bringing joy and creativity to your kitchen. Whether you’re a seasoned chef or just starting your culinary journey, Amira is here to guide, inspire, and transform your cooking experience.
Hi there, I’m Amira Moore, a 40-year-old home cook based in Asheville, North Carolina. I wasn’t classically trained in Paris or raised in a Michelin-starred kitchen. Nope, my culinary journey began in a much humbler (and stickier) setting: my grandmother’s cozy kitchen, with flour dust in the air, a toddler on my hip, and a crockpot bubbling in the corner.

I was a young mom when I really started cooking in earnest—not for fun, but for survival. Between working full-time, managing a household, and parenting two spirited kids, I didn’t have time for 12-step recipes or exotic ingredients I couldn’t pronounce. What I needed were meals that were fast, comforting, nutritious, and could be whipped up with whatever I had on hand. And over the years, I got pretty good at it. I made a lot of mistakes along the way (don’t ask me about the time I mistook salt for sugar in my cornbread), but every flop taught me something new.
Now that my kids are older and I have a bit more breathing room, I’ve turned my kitchen into a space of joy and creativity. But my heart still belongs to the overworked, overtired parent who just wants to get dinner on the table without losing their mind. I see you. I’ve been you. And I’m here to help.
My cooking style is all about simplicity and flavor. Think one-pot meals, slow cooker favorites, sheet pan suppers, and shortcuts that actually work. I believe a good meal doesn’t have to be complicated to be memorable. I love swapping tips with other parents and grandparents, trading tried-and-true hacks, and finding new ways to make weeknight dinners a little less stressful.
So whether you’re just starting out or looking to fall back in love with your kitchen, I’m right here with you—apron on, spatula in hand, and always just a little bit of flour on my face.
